2023-24 Studio Policies
Scheduled lessons September to June Tuition
Tuition and Payment
The 2023-24 Academic year will take place on September 5th, 2023 through June 30th, 2018. The tuition rate includes approximately 40 weekly private lessons (depending on start date), recitals and other performance events. There are no lessons scheduled during the Christmas Break, March Break, Holiday Mondays (Thanksgiving, Family Day, Victoria Day or Easter Monday).
Additional Fees: The tuition fee does not include music books, festivals fees or fees paid for examinations. Those will be paid separately.
Cancelled and Missed Lessons
As a member in good standing of the Ontario Registered Music Teacher Association, my studio policy is in alignment with ORMTA’s studio policy which states that “no allowances will be made for lessons missed by students, except by special arrangement in the case of prolonged illness. This includes cancellations for extended family vacations as well as school-related absences, and will be strictly adhered to. This policy is consistent with those of sports teams, camps, and dojos that place a high priority on regular attendance and diligent commitment. Please choose a time that works with your extracurricular activities.
Regular attendance is necessary to see notable improvement. Extra lessons can be arranged if needed.
What if I don’t get a makeup lesson? If you are concerned with the thought that you may be charged for services not rendered, Please be assured that your tuition is always working for you. I spend a great deal of time outside of lessons choosing repertoire, planning, strategizing and attending teacher workshops, and marking theory assignments. I kindly remind all students and families that between recitals and coaching for extra events, preparing theory worksheet, correcting theory assignments, and researching history materials, I guarantee that students receive more of my professional time than you actually pay for.
